carrie armacost
Carrie Armacost is the founder and owner of CareFit Personal Training in Louisville, Kentucky. Carrie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from The University of Louisville. Carrie is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise and a Certified Running Coach with Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). In 2015 Carrie became a TRX TEAM® TRAINING CAMP CERTIFIED COACH. As an avid fitness enthusiast, Carrie has completed multiple half marathons, 18 marathons - including 9 consecutive Boston Marathons, and competed in Sprint, Olympic, and Half Ironman distance triathlons.
During Carrie’s entire childhood and early adult life, she was active with sports. As that chapter in her life began to close and unfortunate circumstances appeared, she found she had begun to lose her drive, self-esteem and self-confidence, all while packing on an extra 35 pounds. She had to make a firm commitment to turn her life around. Carrie dedicated herself into researching ways to incorporate an entire lifestyle change. Proper nutrition, consistent exercise, and setting challenging, but realistic goals were the answer. Having been on both sides of the fence, Carrie is able to influence others in the same manner.

As a Certified Personal Trainer/ Coach, she strives to share her passion for fitness by challenging and motivating individuals to achieve goals that far exceed their previous comfort zones. Consistently following customized fitness programs, her clients soon realize that no goal is out of reach. These successes influence an individual in all aspects of their lives. Observing these accomplishments in others and knowing that she made a difference in their lives, is the best form of accomplishment that Carrie could ask for.
Hannah Brotzge
Hannah was born and raised in Louisville. Three years ago, she moved to Oklahoma City and began working for lululemon athletica. This is where her love from yoga began. From then on she knew she wanted to become a certified yoga teacher. Her journey then took her to northern California where she continued to practice her favorite style of vinyasa yoga. In January 2016 she moved back to Louisville and enrolled in Yogaia’s School of Yoga, Immersion Teacher Training. She is now a certified Yoga Alliance Vinyasa Flow Teacher. Hannah’s teaching is very alignment based and focused on how muscles groups work together to create stronger, healthier and more flexible bodies while assisting in injury prevention. Upon leaving her class you will feel relaxed, renewed and revitalized for your day ahead.
gretchen shay
Gretchen has always had a passion for fitness. She played on the high school Field Hockey team and excelled in both Cross Country and Track here in Louisville at Ballard High School. She continued her athletics as a collegiate Field Hockey player at Wittenberg University in Springfield Ohio.
Gretchen’s fitness enthusiasm remained as she raised four extremely active and athletic children. She has assisted with her children’s sport teams while continuing to set a positive example within discipline and dedication in maintaining overall fitness. She has regularly attended classes at CareFit for over 6 years and acquired both the TRX Suspension Training and TRX Functional Training qualifications within the past year.
Gretchen is dedicated in assisting individuals in becoming more durable and resilient to injuries in both a private or group setting.

What is functional training?? Functional Training focuses on rhythmic movements that enhance the way an individual moves on a daily basis. There are 3 planes of motions in which an individual moves: Frontal, Sagittal, and Transverse. Whether you are standing, walking, running, jumping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, or reaching - there is movement within these planes. These motions require not just muscle strength; but coordination, range of motion, and speed of movement. CareFit focuses on the following key areas:
