Hi. I’m Carrie Armacost, the owner of CareFit Studio.
Carrie grew up as an athlete competing in sports from the early age of 5 through her college years. Experiencing many ups and downs, such as; Significant injuries, a rollercoaster ride with her weight, therefor, having to work hard to regain the demanding fitness level required to be a successful athlete. Her passion for competition never faded. Once organized sports were no longer offered after college graduation, she turned towards endurance sports such as half- marathons; marathons; and triathlons; along with the support of strength training. The passion for athletics was well beyond personal or for selfish reasons. Carrie transferred her own experiences into coaching her children’s sports teams and eventually founded the cross country program for a local school - Virginia Chance School. Carrie also became a certified running coach (RRCA) in order to properly coach her peers in a variety of racing distances. |
As a coach, Carrie noticed the amount of overuse injuries which arise from only sticking to one mode of exercise. Realizing that it takes a balance as well as an understanding of proper strength, mobility, and cardio exercises to prevent overuse injuries, she became a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise in 2007. CareFit LLC was formed that same year.
In January 2012, CareFit Personal Training opened it’s doors. Carrie was able to enhance her passion of empowering individuals to achieve their best physically, emotionally, and spiritually! The boutique style fitness studio was built to create an environment where anyone can feel as if they have found their “Fitness Family SafeHouse”! Carrie’s coaching passion continues to grow and so does the CareFit culture and community! Athletic Interests outside of the Studio:

Why Carrie?
Carrie gave me an 18 week plan with daily running/workout assignments. Believe it or not, the training was almost easy. It was not hard at all to fit it into my daily routine as a busy mom. The build-up was so gradual that when I got up to the really long runs, my body was ready for them. I was truly prepared. The coaching included nutritional advice and weekly consultations which helped tremendously. On Nov. 6, I ran my first marathon! I completed the 26.2 miles in good time and even felt decent afterwards. |
Elizabeth ElliottElizabeth has been a certified yoga instructor since 2014. Her love of the human body, mind and spirit continued to grow which led her to becoming certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy and also Reiki. The foundation of her practice combines the physical and nutritional with and inner emotional and spiritual journey. By integrating body, breath, movement, nutrition and meditative awareness, she strives to promote an understanding of the interdependency of all these aspects in personal health and wellbeing.
