At the heart of CareFit is its founder, Carrie Armacost, whose deep passion for helping others has shaped every aspect of her journey and her work.
There often comes a point in life when success on the outside no longer matches how you feel on the inside. You may look accomplished to everyone around you, yet quietly feel exhausted, disconnected, stuck, or unsure of what comes next. That’s where real transformation begins. Not in perfection. Not in performance. But in the decision to rebuild with intention.
For nearly two decades, Carrie has helped individuals strengthen their lives physically, mentally, emotionally, and personally through coaching, fitness, and leadership development. As a certified personal trainer, life coach, and business owner, she has trained hundreds of clients, built a business from the ground up, and spent years studying what actually creates lasting change. Her work blends transformational coaching, functional fitness, and real-life resilience to help people create results from the inside out. Carrie believes that anyone can achieve what once seemed impossible with the right mindset and a proven process. Her own life is proof.

Carrie’s Story
After graduating from the University of Louisville with a degree in Communications, where she was also a collegiate athlete, Carrie began her career in the advertising industry. Even then, she was always drawn to understanding people, what motivates them, and how they change. She eventually moved fully into the fitness industry, became a certified personal trainer in 2007, and has remained deeply rooted there ever since—coaching clients, building programs, and even founding and coaching local cross-country teams.
She has completed 18 marathons, including nine consecutive Boston Marathon races since 2004. Her drive was only paused by an injury in 2013, notably the same year as the tragic Boston bombing—another reminder that life can shift in an instant. Her dedication to growth, discipline, and resilience has always extended far beyond finish lines and medals.
Yet the most important lessons didn’t come from certifications, accolades, or athletic achievements. They came from real life. At 42, Carrie faced divorce, financial loss, and the reality of starting over as a single parent. There were days that felt heavy, uncertain, and quietly overwhelming. There was no quick fix—just small, consistent steps forward, one choice at a time. That season didn’t break her; it reshaped her. It taught her not only how to rebuild a body or a business, but how to rebuild a life that feels strong, aligned, and truly her own.
This is the heart behind CareFit. Carrie doesn’t just teach transformation; she has lived it. She knows what it’s like to look successful but feel disconnected, to appear strong while privately carrying the weight of change. Her mission is to walk alongside others in that space—to provide the mindset, structure, accountability, and compassion needed to rebuild with intention.

Fitness will always remain part of the CareFit mission because movement so often becomes the doorway to something much bigger. When people begin strengthening their bodies, something else begins to shift: their confidence grows, their energy returns, their mindset becomes clearer, and their belief in themselves starts to rebuild. Movement becomes the starting point for confidence, clarity, and resilience. That philosophy became the foundation of both CareFit Personal Training and Barriers into Bridges Coaching. Together, these two paths allow Carrie to guide clients through transformation that supports the whole person—not just one area of life.

She is currently writing her own book, Barriers into Bridges, a soon-to-be-released memoir that shares the deeper journey behind her work and the lessons learned through rebuilding life, identity, and purpose after adversity. In this powerful story, Carrie reveals how she has broken through life’s many lows and still come out on top.
She understands there’s a moment most people don’t talk about.
